In Asia there are 6 main regions, each with a distinct climate.
Eastern Asia: Includes China, Japan, North and South Korea, Taiwan, and Mongolia. It's climate is similar to the U.S and Europe, meaning that it experiences hot summers and cold winters. More precipitation occurs in the winter months than in the summer months.
Southern Asia: Has the countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The more southwest you travel, the more tropical and humid the climate becomes. The northeast is arid and semi-arid, meaning that there is barely any precipitation.
Southeast Asia: Made up of the countries Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Phillipines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Brunei, and Timor-Leste. The climate in these countries is very tropical and sub-tropical, meaning that the average temperature falls between 60-70 degrees fahrenheit.
Northern Asia: Russia is the only country in this part of Asia. Siberia experiences extremely long and cold winters, and a few months of warm weather.
Central Asia: Consisting of Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan, Turkeminstan, and Tajikistan. The climate here is very cool year-round. During the winter the air is drier than in the summer.
Southwest Asia: This area includes Azerbaijan, Iran, Armenia, Oman, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey, and Georgia. This area is mainly desert and semi-desert, meaning it is all very hot and dry.
